Low Carb at Sonic

Sonic doesn't have many low carb food options, but the drink menu is where they really shine, offering more options than any other fast food place.

Sonic's review was pretty boring because there have very few items within carb limits, but then we got to the drinks and our eyes glittered!

On a separate note, Sonic's nutrition information comes in a downloadable PDF and there's no nutrition calculator on their site. This means that we don't know how many carbs come in each item.

Sonic's Low Carb Breakfast

Only one breakfast item falls into GD carb limits.

BUT, the Croissonic Breakfast Sandwiches with bacon or sausage are just over the cut off with 31 carbs and 26g of protein.

Also, be mindful that the carbs in the Jr. burrito come mostly from the white flour tortilla.

Since Sonic doesn't have a nutrition calculator on their site, we don't know how many carbs are in the burger alone.

So when it comes to burgers, if you take away half of the bun, you still don't know how many carbs you're actually eating.

Kid's Meals Low Carb at Sonic

Even the kid's meals items were high carb considering what they were. For example, the corn dog has 23 carbs, but what would you pair with it to combat the empty carbs in the breading and that will keep you within carb limits and satisfy you until snack time?

That said, only one kid's meal item made the list.

Wraps

I want to mention Sonic's wraps because at other fast food places you can get grilled chicken wraps as the better option over breaded chicken and still sit under 30 carbs.

Sonic's grilled chicken wrap, however, is 39 carbs and 31g of protein. Those carbs are almost all from the white flour tortilla - blood sugar spiking carbs. ...Doesn't leave you much room for anything else.

Low Carb Hot Dogs at Sonic

Not the best situation, just like kid's menu scenario, but I figured you'd want to know the hot dogs with the lowest carbs.

Just think about what you'll eat with it that is within carbs, and how full you'll be after.

Does Sonic have low carb ice cream?

Nope.

For reference, here are the carb ranges for Sonic's many different types of ice cream.

None of them are acceptable, but you should know just how outrageous they are in case you're looking for a cheat treat.

Sonic would be the ultimate cheat in terms of carbs, but there are more modest options at other places.

The ranges are so vast because they include different sizes and add-ins.

(not to mention Sonic has a daily happy hour)

Like everywhere else, black coffee, unsweetened tea, diet soda and Coke Zero are all going to be 0 carbs, but Sonic is known for their vast drink flavors!

You see that the amount of carbs vary by size, and there were a few add-ins that were 11 carbs with a larger size, which isn't so terrible, but I like to keep the cut off for liquid carbs at 10 grams.
