Surprise! Smoothie King DOES have low carb smoothies after overhauling their menu!

Man was I shocked to see that Smoothie King has low carb smoothies!
If you didn’t know, Smoothie King wasn’t the healthiest choice a couple of years ago, but they made great changes to their smoothies, namely removing added sugar from all but one of their smoothies.
Note:
Don’t worry – the one smoothie with added sugar didn’t make this list, but for future reference it’s The Hulk Strawberry (the strawberries are sweetened with sugar).
But I should say that just because Smoothie King almost eliminated added sugar doesn’t mean their entire menu is low carb or low sugar.
In fact, the majority of their smoothies still have a lot of carbs and sugar. The only difference is they’re sweetened naturally with fruits, juice, and sometimes sweetened with stevia.
Smoothie King’s Menu
If you’re a regular at Smoothie King, you know that their menu is categorized by the type of blend.
All the smoothies in this guide come from the Fitness Blends and Slim Blends.
Smoothies from the Wellness Blends, Break Time Blends, and even Kids Blends were very high carb.
Smoothie King’s Low Carb Smoothies
The smoothies are listed by size and sorted from lowest to highest total carbs. I noticed that many of the smoothies had exceptional fiber, so it’s included as well, and the net carbs.

You’re going to look at some of the carbs and say I’m completely crazy, but hear me out!
1. All smoothies listed on this low carb guide are below 25 net carbs. The reason I allowed this many carbs is because the smoothies have adequate protein, and most of them have exceptional amounts of protein.
2. Because carbs in drinks are processed by our bodies more quickly than carbs in chewable foods, it’s expected that you NOT drink a whole smoothie in one sitting. So if you cut the smoothies in half, and consider the protein in them, the carbs look much more realistic and are very well balanced.
3. It’s highly advised that the smoothie be one portion of an entire meal. It’s NOT recommended that you consume a whole smoothie in one sitting unless it has bare minimum carbs.

Two Cautions for Diabetics
1. If you order a strawberry flavored smoothie, for your safety, ask the preparer to be sure to use the unsweetened strawberries.
The reason for this is that sometimes when one ingredient is out, the preparer will assume that it’s okay to use a like ingredient, but they don’t know you can’t handle the added sugar.
I’m not suggesting that this happens at Smoothie King, but it does happen in the food service industry.
2. Beware of the “Original High Protein” smoothies. They have a ton of carbs, and the amount of protein they have is the same as the smoothies on this list.
So be sure to stick to the smoothies in this guide.
