A food and information blog for gestational diabetes
Snacking as a diabetic can really be a pain sometimes. It's often inconvenient and means you either have to read a bunch of labels, or go make something from scratch. And at sometime during your gestational diabetes journey, you're likely to experiment with bedtime snacks to get your fasting blood sugar where you need it to be. Whether you want something sweet or savory, we have plenty of good snacks for you to try that are healthy and made with a low carb, higher protein concentration.
Snacks should be easy, so we have a variety or real food, on-the-go, or make ahead snack ideas to keep your taste buds interested. Some are actual snack recipes, but others are just snack ideas, like dark chocolate with almonds. If you're looking for a snack list, be sure to check out our downloadable PDF of 42 snack ideas for gestational diabetes with recipes included.
Definitely take a look at our diabetic cookies recipe (my favorite) and the super easy stovetop candied pecans. They're both make ahead recipes that come in handy when you're in a bind.
